Ahhh sunny SUNNY az

Well then that was the trip. Besides all the tourist places, I got in my solid 3 while I was there. Unfortunatel, they were all treadmill. I willbe finding some intense courses this week. However, I am proud to say that I woke up at 4 am this morning, then srill managed to bang out my 3 around 11. I'm off to the airport now, looking  forward to ending June and getting in some 6s in july. I'm liking this schedule, because besides the 6s, we can work on getting our times down.

P.s as much as I love my zune, I'm super jealous about the nike thing. I'm struglling to get times and speed without resorting to a treadmill. And I deff can't drop the money even on the cheap ipod with nike. Ill have to figure it out soon.

Hope you're enjoying AZ=)

4.1 miles tonight.
8:30pm
41 minutes
10 minutes miles
549 calories burned....haha love my Nike+. The man-voice even talks to me at the end of every mile letting me know where I'm at in the run and gives me words of encouragement! My feet are still getting really hot, but when I tried going sockless last night I could feel the blisters coming on....

Also, got cute new running shorts and tanks today because this heat is getting ridic! Won't be long and I'll be able to run in just a sports bra and shorts...it'll be legit because I am SO WINNING our little bet;) ABS OF STEEL hahahah God, I hope! lol

Days off are for wimps=)

LOL we ran 4 miles tonight and it felt great! Waited for the sun to go down and then made our way around the neighborhood. My feet got really really hot, but that's about all I could complain about. I'm getting pretty pumped for the longer distances now that I have more confidence in finishing.

Have fun in AZ, but I wouldn't suggest running in that heat! I can't wait to hear all about it and how a visit in 100+ heat is most likely going to change your future plans for heading down and over there=)

Holy. Shit.

I am fucking exhausted. 5 miles, one short break, pure exhaustion. I need to figure out a way to bring water with me, because in 81 degree heat it's just too much.

Route: Down Main, Down packard, down east stadium, up wastenaw, down south u down liberty. Just craziness.

Temp: 81

NO LEG PAINS! I walked a little extra to warm up, so maybe that's the key. Little 4 tomorrow, then I'm glad I have Wednesday off because I am off to SUNNY ARIZONA! I'm going to have to figure out how to work it, because it's supposed to be 109 on Friday. I hope you enjoyed your day off. Worrrrrrrrrrrrd

Good luck=)

with both your exam and your 5! Oh, and you're getting to FL...get a job=)

I'm Tryin, I'm Tryin

Ha you think you know me so well. You act like you've never been camping before.

Well yesterday we decided to have everyone over for a monster fondue party, so I delayed my 5 for tomorrow and did my 3 tonight. On Thursday when I went, my leg hurting finally turned into complete lockup, and I had to walk. Today it hurt again, but not too bad. I'll let you know how the 5 goes, that's going to be tough. In better news, I have an exam at 8am. By 10 am, I'll be COMPLETELY done with college! I need to figure out some way to make some cash so I can get down to T.Bay.

I was gone for TWO DAYS!!!!

A. Why didn't we ever go camping when we were together?! I know you're not exactly the "camping type," but what a fun time it was. I highly suggest ya'll camp next year at ROTR because you would have an excellent time=)

B. You guys should come out to Lansing in a couple weeks for common ground fest...Stone Temple Pilots, Saving Abel, Framing Hanley, NEEDTOBREATHE, 3 doors down, JET, Red, and others.

C. Where are your post from the past couple runs? Did you quit on me?!

Since you're slacking...

I just got back from running my 5 and I wanted to call you...bad, but I resisted the urge and decided to catch my breath instead. Ry....I am actually a runner! I can't wait until Sunday, after you've ran your 5, when we are both real runners:) It's something about the number I think, the number 5 that makes this whole training thing seem real. Ok, clearly I'm a bit excited! I got a new pair of kicks on my after-work shopping spree lol, maybe it's the shoes...ha

Anyway,
Five miles. 56 minutes. After mile 3, my pace seemed to increase naturally and without much effort so it was at about that point that I decided I was going to finish this in under an hour.

I was excited to do nothing today.

Got home from work, remembered it was a "rest" day, thought about my evening of blissful nothingness, then remembered that we're going camping this weekend. So much for a day off! I figure I better put a couple miles in since I will probably miss my Saturday and Sunday run. I know Sunday is our first 5, so I might attempt that on Thursday or just move it to Monday.

My 4 yesterday went well. My time is improving, but my body is def starting to feel all these miles. I guess being sore feels pretty good because it lets me know that I'm pushing myself.

I did it

4 Miles. No Stopping last night. I am proud.

My times are still a little sad, but they will come up. Luckily I'm back on schedule, with another 4 awaiting me tonight.

I forgot this in the last post! I added the calender to the bottom of the page so I hope this helps a little...just scroll down=)

No worries=)

A little bend in the workout schedule won't hurt a thing! With your "injury" maybe it's better that you take it easy for the week. If you push it then you are just going to hinder the training later in the game, let yourself recover then get back to the grind.

So the Hellrung's are back in MI, huh?! Assuming that it's not because of a bad financial/family situation, that's exciting news! I bet the girls are happy to be closer to you and it should be fun for you to spend more time with your dad=)

I headed to the track yesterday. By changing up my routes, and setting I'm keeping things interesting for me and I haven't been bored yet! It was nice to be on an actual track where I could easily keep track of my distance and my time. The surface was also a lot easier on my body in general. The 4 mile run was tough but I gave myself a 2 lap walking warm up and a whole mile cool down and stretch which felt really good.

If you're not feeling up to the run today, give yourself a rest and your body a chance to recover a bit before getting back to it! Good luck!

I am a little bad...

Alrighty so yesterday was father moving back to Michigan day. I had planned on going running after breaking after the move. However, he showed up with a 53 foot semi and a 28 foot uHaul, full of all their shit they ceaselessly purchase. After that good workout, I was exhausted. So I did my 3 miles today, and I'll take my 4 tomorrow. Little disappointed that I moved it, but not too bad. I drove to his house at 2am from Ann Arbor to Marine City after the hockey game, and we started at 8:00 am, so getting up before to go was just not feasible. But i'll get at it tomorrow and it'll be good. 891 left, it'll be 4 less tomorow morning.

3 mile route
Nighttime run - 62 degress

Ankle hurt, eventually shooting up to just below my knee..We'll see how this turns out. I need to look up more on using foods (gels) during the race, and healing from litte injuries every night.

I can't figure out why I didn't start running sooner!

8:00 am
3 miles around campus, on and off rain and NO IPOD=) I figured the rainy morning was a perfect time to try out running without the tunes, and it really wasn't all that bad. Not sure I could go 26 miles without it, but the 3 were nice.

Notes: The first mile is still tough for me, but after that my breathing seems to completely steady and I feel great. After the 3 today, I actually felt like I could have gone further but I figured that I would stick to our schedule and I do want to be careful not to push too hard. After all, we do have 8 months to go!

As much as I try to be nice...

Retard. Google maps. You can drag points around to get the best circuit without doubling up. I had the BEST run today.

4 Miles
Rainy - 66 F
Route: Down Main, Out on East Stadium, Up south Forest, down N U, up East Liberty

Notes: This was amazing because I finally realized to SLOW DOWN. I'm not going to be in the best shape immediately. When I kept hard and walked, I finally got this and then ran the entire way, and STILL made 10 mins a mile. And also, relax the shoulders. Even though I twisted my knee, and my hip and foot hurt from my drunken antics, it was amazing because I did it.

Use google maps. It's fantastic. Much love.

Everytime I lace up now, I think about how much I want to be in one of those Nike ads...

but instead of the whole "I run for those who can't" line, mine would probably be something along the lines of " I run because I plan on having a Turkey Tom, mountain dew and leftover birthday cake for lunch"

Sad, but oh so very true. I just got back from a happy 4.2 mile jog and not only did I survive, but I think it was easier than my 3 mile run the day before! I felt strong? lol that sounds real homo lol Let me know if you find out anything more about music and the race because that just seems crazy! I am all for the "escape" of running, but even I can only reflect on life in silence for so long.

You know what's been the most difficult for me....figuring out the most efficient route to run in order to make my mileage and not go in circles. I can either drive around first to figure it out in the car, make my best guess, or head right to the track and be bored out of my mind. Ordered the NIKE+ sensor today to sync with my iPOD, so hopefully that helps=)

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

What am I going to do when my iPOD dies somewhere between miles 18 and 20?!

and this is all I could think about as I was running tonight (yes, I'm an overachiever and went for a quick 2 mile run tonight) but seriously....what am I going to do when it dies? Bah, guess I'm going to have to keep up with you so I don't go crazy...haha who would have thought I'd be looking to YOU to keep me sane?

Good luck with the 4 tomorrow!

This is the one

http://www.tampabayrun.com/site3.aspx

Hey negativity

We will keep up with this craziness. AND I post the temperature because I want to look back and know every little thing ha. I also learned that I tied my shoes too tight. Plus the route took me awhile to get exactly 3 for, so I want to have something to remember it so I can take it during my 3 runs.

In other news, my bar run last night turned into a jump into the fountain by the Union, causing a large bruise on my right foot and left hip. I don't even know how that physically works ha. We'll see how it turns out during my run tomorrow. 4 miles is going to be a killer.

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

I could use about 5 more hours in every day, ok maybe 10.

I really didn't want to run today, but I did. My love/hate relationship with running was all hate this morning when my alarm went off at 5:30, but there are just not enough hours in the day for my crazy life to fit just the way I'd like it to.

2.9 miles...I know I know, but it was before 6 AM!
33 minutes(that's just about a 10 minute mile...not bad not bad=))

-I don't like this format because I feel like we might not keep up with it, but I'm going to keep at it until I have time to put together something better.

Let's get this started

Ok run number one.

Time: ~40 Minutes
Temp: 66
Length: 3 miles
Route: Down Packard, Up South Forest, Down Liberty
Notes: Well, I knew it wouldn't be easy. It wasn't too bad, but I definitely had to do some walking around the halfway point. It's only the beginning.

Miles Remaining: 898

Toenails...we could lose our toenails.ha oops!
Apparently, after this is all said and done, we could lose our toes!

It's On.

I know that I can get through the first 20 miles on my own, but I'm counting on you to carry me through that last 6.2.

Time to get moving=)
