p90X

Have you heard of this? I guess if you don't already participate, then it is just another "fad" workout system promising ripped abs and toned arms, but I think you'd be surprised. It's pretty intense; split up into about 6 15-30 min. segment videos targeting different parts of the bod, plus a new diet and cardio routine. I'm not into changing my lifestyle lol but I started doing the ab ripper video 2 times a day last week and I can honestly say it's working. It kills, and for the first two days I really couldn't ACTUALLY do the exercises properly, but once you build up the strength it really burns and you can feel it working.

I just thought I'd let you know because according to most of the runners I've talked to or read about there is nothing more beneficial than cross-training:)

Got our first snowfall last night...how's the lake effect snow in GR?? Hopefully it's not too bad and you don't have to drive too much further north in this weather!

running cures a running nose...bahhhh;)

Tonight I ran far...real far, and kinda fast=) lol But really....
It was a beautiful night for a run and with finals right around the corner I was in need of a good run!

7.2 miles
1 hour, 18 min.(still 10 minute miles, but that's the furthest I've gone in awhile:))

Hope your motivation has begun to kick in and that you had a good holiday!

Motivation

Damn it; I must be just tired. I continue to stay sick for some reason, although I have been sleeping ungodly amounts of hours. Tomorrow won't be any good, because I am going to go to Saginaw at about 6 A.M. Before that, I'll be back to running though. I suggest you subscribe to Runner's World magazine, its only $12 for the entire year! That's 75 % off the news... Just kidding. But I just did it, for the motivation and tips $12 is a steal. Tomorrow I'm going back to 3, then 4 and 3 for the week, and Sunday get at a 5 or so. I'm trying to get it back going, but winter just sucks. Awesome seeing you, hope your motivation is going well.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Last night it was freezing. So I put on some leggings, a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, gloves, and a headband....and sweated my ass of on a 7.4 mile run around the neighborhood and through campus=) It was a good run and I felt really good afterward too. No more soreness in the morning which is nice and other than a few cramps during the run it was perfect!

It was nice seeing you this week. Do me a favor and make time for some fun for yourself. Do yourself a favor and get some rest=) You're just getting started in the real world and you look like it's already winning...don't let it.

Try to stay healthy and keep in touch=)

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Fix your knees and come back=)....please.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Damn daylight savings...what does that even mean cause I'm pretty sure my daylight has been cut about 4 hours short! Anyway, tonight, or at 5 lol I ran 5.2 miles in 46 minutes. Now, this may mean very little to you but do you know what this means for me...I'm getting FASTER=) I've been getting frustrated for the past couple weeks because I've been busting my butt on longer runs, but I've seemed to be stuck at about a 9.5 min/mile pace. Tonight, however, I rocked a new play list and I guess it worked because a little over 8 minute miles is where I'm hoping to keep my pace!

Of course, after that great workout we ventured off to grocery shop. It was then that I discovered not only my perpetual hunger but the aforementioned Vanilla Coke ZERO, as well...that's right, ZERO calories of delicousness. Enjoy:)

7:00 A.M. comes WAY to early

Ok so I have recommitted myself to Tempur-Pedic on a ridiculous level, and I'm up till 1 A.M. every night doing computer work. So when I plug that alarm clock up for 7 A.M. I'm too tired to even think about it. But once it hits, I'm dying. So I got up this morning, got all my new gear on - and just went. And it wasn't too bad. Running in the cold fucking sucks, but I'm going to have to get used to it. The diet thing has been on and off - it's easy to eat bad and overeat when you're taking clients out all the time. But I did my three again on a pretty hilly path, and I'm going to follow it up with another 3 tomorrow morning. A rest day on Friday like always, cross training at the gym on Saturday, then Sunday comes big: 5 already. I think I had only gotten to 6 when I was really into this before Tempur, so it should be pretty difficult but that's what I get. Those big runs are what it'll really take to get prepared. I've been drinking mad water lately, and it just makes me feel like.... I have to piss all the time. But between this and working about 12 hours a day, I'm feeling pretty good. Legs are a little sore, they probably should be a little more with time, but that'll come as I speed up with time.

NOM NOM NOM

I'm so proud! Definitely thought I had lost you for good this time, but so excited that you're back!
I've been running strong now for the past two weeks, pretty much every day if not every other; always at least 4 times a week and never less than 3 miles. Might not sound like much, but from where I started...the fact that I have not keeled over is in and of itself an accomplishment=)

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before or not but mapmyrun.com is the game I play either before or after each run. Just type in your city and form your own route to the distance of your choice or head out for a run, go until you can go anymore, try to remember where you went, then come home and map it out to find out how far you actually went. I prefer the latter of the two as I always run much further than I would have thought=)
Another fun game...make an hour long play list, or as in my case, a couple=) It's fun because an hour of music is really only about 16 or 17 songs which seem like nothing when you're running. Also, I can usually do about 6 miles in the hour which is a good distance too!

Ok ok I'll stop rambling! Glad to have you back!

Pkeeeeeeew!

Re-Start

Ok so we fell off the wagon. Definitely understandable considering the craziness, but not excusable. Everyone is busy, it's just making the time to do it. I have readjusted my schedule now to accomodate restart, but definitely jumping right in with 5 on Sunday and climbing from there. It's going to be incredibly tough, and I am definitely going to be taking care of injuries and icing down every day to fix up the shock.

So after working until about 2 AM, I forced myself up at 7:30 in order to be able to run before I head off to work. I got out, started my walking warm up, and started freezing. I ALMOST talked myself into going home and going shopping and then running later, but I manned up, layered up, and went out for my 3 miler. It really wasn't too bad, it's pretty hilly out here, but I took it easy enough. It was great to get out again, and trust me I need it.

I will be in Lansing the day and night of the 10th and the day of the 11th so we'll have to meet up. Keep on rockin.

PS: Been keeping up with Lost?

Monday, November 2, 2009

I haven't ran since Thursday.
Tonight, I'm going for somewhere between 6 and 8 miles and then I'll report back!

Thursday, October 22, 2009

ok so I know I haven't been doing the best either, but I got this thing back up and running so you better get back on! I run a lot...probably 4 times a week and each time at least 4 miles....it's fun, I like it, I'm not fast, but I do it and I guess that's all that really matters.

I'm going to get a new battery for my ipod transmitter so I can start back up on this marathon workout....whoo!

Weekend plans? haha I better be seeing you soon, guy, it's been too too long!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

So I decided that when I go for my shorter runs that I will go i-podless...completely without my tunes. However, my 4 mile night JOG turned into one badass workout with my sprinting away from every little noise I heard in the bushes at about 5 minute intervals. LOL It looks like I can either break the rules and jam while I run or I can follow the rules and psych myself out to the point of exhaustion.....

4.2 miles

10 miles

Finally....I've been working hard to get here and it's finally showing in mileage because I can honestly say that I wasn't certain I'd ever hit the 10 mile mark. Too bad that's still 16.2 miles short of where I need to be!
10 miles...just under 2 hours.
Stopped once at a crosswalk for about 2 minutes because of heavy traffic and turned off the tunes about 4 miles in. (been trying to run more with less music to get a feel for it.

If you're still out there hope you're doing well and that being in the "real world" hasn't been too scary=)

Saturday, August 29, 2009

If you're reading this then you suck so much for looking and not running/posting=(

So disappointed....

Friday, August 21, 2009

After a week of enthusiastic people-pleasing and fake smiles...

I finally increased my mileage! This morning I ran 8.2 miles around campus and the neighborhoods here in East Lansing and it was not easy....but, not quite as tough as I imagined it to be.
I was only setting out to do a 5 mile, but 5 quickly turned into 6 and then my head was just in it so I decided to do my first 8 ever! I was completely out-of-breath, but completely satisfied when I took my last few steps up to my front door.
Finished in about an hour and 35 minutes...a little bit long I guess, but I think I'll still be happy about it.

Hope all is well with you, the job hunt, and the running=)

Monday, August 10, 2009

I'm still going...are you, dummy?

Heading over to the high school right after work today to run the track and do some bleachers. Hoping to do about 4 or 5 miles if I can stand the heat. I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be doing, speaking mileage, so I'll have to upload the August schedule soon to stay on track.

I was hoping to run this weekend, but with 21 festivities I should have know that wouldn't happen=( However, I plan on going at it hardcore this week to make-up for the loss!

Hope you're well!

Thursday, August 6, 2009

what's up?

I'm not trying to be pushy, just hope everything is ok=) You haven't had a post in awhile and the other night you totally blew off our run (no biggie:))

I ran 4 tonight and it was a little rough, but I'm sticking with it. Plan on going for a run in the morning before the big 21 bday celebration begins!!!

Have a good weekend=)

5 miles in under an hour=)

I had a great run tonight! It was too bad you couldn't join, but the weather was perfect and I finished 5 miles in under an hour! I love it when I stay under 10 minute/miles!

Ran from McDonalds out to the lake and back...the whole way is about 6 miles exactly but when I finished the 5 I stopped, stretched and walked the rest of the way back.

Good luck getting back into things this week.

It's been awhile...

You are being lame and haven't had a post in 2 weeks which means it's been 2 weeks since you've put in a decent run=(

Ran last night...didn't do the 7, but did a pretty good 3 mile. Thought a little bit about your mattress hang-up while the bats were swooping. Maybe you should put together a webpage, and market for a younger crowd. Tempur-Pedic is markets towards an older age and remember sleeping on the floor? Yeah well us students need a nice comfy mattress just as much as that 70 year old with the crooked back=)

check this out...

http://www.design42day.com/
^^ nothing to do with running, but I know that with your "expensive" taste you'll think this is pretty sweet....check out the freakin yaht! lol

Also, I'm going for a run tonight and I hope it goes well! If you wanna run tomorrow morning/afternoon let me know, I might be around=)

Good luck getting those stitches out tomorrow!

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

I did my 4 miles this morning and I know you didn't so I'm gonna rub it in...

LOL....just messin with you=)

It was nice out when I got up this morning so I decided to do my run early in my best attempt to get back on track. It was a little hot, a little humid, and ridiculously windy, but I managed. I did my 4 ( I actually think I went a little over) but my nike+ sensor ran out of batteries. I love that thing, but I'm pretty sure it only lasted for about a month before dying. It's only $20 for a replacement but hey that's like $250 a year...so idk if I'm going to continue to buy new ones....

Monday, July 27, 2009

I'm all hopped up on somethin!

Hi there my little drunk amigo...I always knew you loved that song...too rah loo rah aye=)

My 3 last night went super well...so good infact that I turned it into a 5 and said that made up for my slackage this past week. I've been super busy, but doing my best to keep up with the schedule. I might be home this week from thurs-mon?? Maybe we can finally get a run in together=)

Hope your mouth is continuing to feel better=) I'm sure that alcohol helped with the numbing for at least a couple days!

ciao!

Thursday, July 23, 2009

Well I'm feeling good..

Woke up this morning and still haven't taken any drugs. I'm guessing that as long as none of the scabs fall out, I'll be good to start again Sunday. My 6 on Sunday was amazing, and when I ran 3 on Tuesday it was hell. It all depends on so many factors on how good you feel. I'll let you know when I'm back in motion.

Run when you're frustrated and you'll run faster...

I know today was a rest day and I probably should have taken it after that 6, but running is an out and I needed an out tonight.

3.4 miles
27:58 (by far my fastest run yet, averaging almost at 8 minute/miles)

It was a good run. I went at about 10:45 which is a little later than I like to go (dark, scary e.l streets) lol but it was still good. Maybe I'll take tomorrow off or maybe I'll just get some french fries to reward my ambitious behavior haha...def more likely=)

Living With Musicians, Starts When You Fall and The Avenue play on repeat while I run...

and it's genius!

I hope you actually ran last night considering you did text me to remind me to run=)

6.32 miles (the .32 was a walking cool down)
1:16:36 (that's kinda slow...~12 minute/miles)
848 cals (AND that is pretty much more than I even consumed yesterday=)

This was a fantastic run, mostly because I was expecting it to be sooo much worse=) Hope you had a good weekend and that your 6 goes well TONIGHT if you didn't end up doing it last night=P

Interesting Read

This is the second article of this type that has been on Digg in the past couple weeks:

http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2009/07/barefoot/

These are about $70, and look very appealing, especially since I have had so many issues. But with no job, I guess they will have to await.

I've been slacking

Technically I've been doing the runnings, but without much umph and blogging and the such. I'm diving back in tonight with the 6 hard, and I'll let you know how they roll.

Saturday, July 18, 2009

I hope you had fun last night=)

A few drinks was probably just what you needed after a rough week of job hunting=)

My run from last night:
4.07 miles
40:16 minutes
520 calories AND
I ran my best mile on my my nike+ at 9:01 minutes so that was eciting.

It was a good run and the temp. was perfect!

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

I'm ready for a rest day tomorrow=)

I've been keeping up with the running this week, but a 6 on Monday followed by 3 3's has def. tired me out! Keep running and keep blogging lol ("blogging" so nerdy) but when you stop I always get the feeling that you've quit on me=)

Did my 3 this morning, in the rain, before work at 9...it was almost miserable lol but I have to say that this is my second run in inclement weather, and it always seems to make the time go by faster!

Good luck in your job search, but it's too bad you couldn't work up that courage to head to AZ.

p.s TK&TS took me on a bit of an emotional ride last night. When music gets to you like that, I guess its something special, or maybe you're just messed up. haha Either way, I hadn't listened much before you suggested it and it def hit a spot so thanks dude=)

Thursday, July 9, 2009

I hate to be a one-upper, but I plan on drinking way too much this weekend so...

tonight
4.40 miles
45.31 min.
563 cals

I'm pooped. Have a good night=)

Whatnow biotch

3 miles. 7.5 laps around mothers neighborhood. 28 minutes. Peace out.

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

maybe I should stick to the schedule

Now I know why there is a rest day between the 5 and three 3's....blah my legs hurt and I don't want to run today!

-----ok I did it, I ran my 3 this afternoon, actually 3.41 to be exact!
3.41 miles
34:13 minutes
406 calories burned (this is nice to know, but in my case the higher the number the more I munch later:O)

My legs hurt, but not when I run! I was so sore this morning, semi-crabby, and not wanting to run, but once I started running I noticed that the pains pretty much went away. It felt good and I ended up doing a little over 3 miles=)

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

big 5

I ended up doing my 5 yesterday instead of Sunday, as well, and I hate to say it but 65 minutes for the 5 is real slow boy;) I felt like I kept a pretty slow pace, but still made it under an hour. The 5 is definitely a tough one and I know you've been having aches and pains so I won't be too tough on ya!

I did my 5 around Lake Lansing. A nice trail with a few hills, but the weather was perfect and there was just enough wind around the corners to keep me smiling=)

5.21 miles
56:31 minutes/ ~11 min/miles
776 calories burned (which were quickly replaced with the ice cream I had after) ha

....and I did stop/slow down twice, once to shake out my knees a bit (do your knees every tighten up?) and a second time to fix my shoe which gave me an awful blister.

Have you still been doing your miles alone or did you get Renu or someone to tag along? Just wondering because I've been trying to run without music a couple days a week and run with a friend instead. It's definitely a challenge to hold a conversation and a good pace, but I'm trying to get used to running without the headphones and keep my focus while running with someone. As for running alone without music....BORING=)

Monday, July 6, 2009

Best run yet

Well look at me now. I ended up saving my 5 for today, and boy was it great. 85 degrees, long ass run, and I didn't stop AND I did it in about an hour. Definitely still a little high, but it was good for only the second 5. imy legs weren't too bad, and when I finally stop going all over the country ill ice them down a lot more. Advil antiinflams seem to help a whole lot.

5 miles
65 mins
Route: naperville main roads

Sunday, July 5, 2009

I've been good I swear

Ok so I have been all over this crazy country lately, but I've been keeping up. Yesterday, I even did my three at this RIDICULOUS hilly trail at a lakehouse. Were talking about hills that took 5 minutes to climb at crazy degrees. I was really proud of that one. I'm still having terrible pains in my shins, but for now I'm going to keep on. I've been icing them, taking antiinflamatories, etc. If I need to, ill take a week off and get rid of the week that's between set 1 and set 2 of training. Hope your fourth was good, ill be back on tuesday evening, so maybe ill wait to do the  3 and we can start doing them all together. Are you in el? Anyways, I'm off to do my 5 so I can keep myself up. Unfortuantely, my overall self isn't being tested, because I can't go to fast without hurting my legs. I have to stop before I even get winded. We shall see.

Saturday, July 4, 2009

Somebody's a slacker....

Yeah, I know it's sick-early right now, but I have a busy day so I woke up early for my run. I'm in the HTWP for the weekend so I took a run around the beach...beautiful=) Michigan really does seem like paradise on some monrnings. I hate to sound like a running brat, but the 3 miles is nothing anymore. The last few 3 mile runs I've felt like I could go further, but then remind myself of the schedule and the fact that 5 and 6 mile runs are in my near future=)

Have a good holiday! Watch fireworks, drink beer, and ya know...be an american. haha

p.s. I'm not giving up on this or you and your "laziness" If you quit I'll find a way for this blog to email you my updates until it drives you as crazy as I once did=)

Thursday, July 2, 2009

Weather...really?!

Too bad you were not able to spend this week in "sunny sunny az!" I was all excited to head home this week and hang out on the lake, but not if this shittyness keeps up!

3.41 miles
9:51 min/mile splits=)
Finally, I'm under 10 minutes/miles and on a longer run even! It was chilly and I was a little stiff for the first mile (skipped the stretching) but then it was all good in da hood;)
I hope you're feeling better and that you took a few days to let yourself heal. There's really no sense in running through bad pain because chances are if it doesn't go away after a few minutes than there is actually something wrong. Take your time getting back into it this next week, but please don't quit on me! Like I said, if you do quit I'm not letting you go lightly=) You will be hearing all about FL come Feb.!

p.s. If you're going to be around the twp this week we should meet up at the bike trail and go for a run one day.

Sunday, June 28, 2009

Ahhh sunny SUNNY az

Well then that was the trip. Besides all the tourist places, I got in my solid 3 while I was there. Unfortunatel, they were all treadmill. I willbe finding some intense courses this week. However, I am proud to say that I woke up at 4 am this morning, then srill managed to bang out my 3 around 11. I'm off to the airport now, looking  forward to ending June and getting in some 6s in july. I'm liking this schedule, because besides the 6s, we can work on getting our times down.

P.s as much as I love my zune, I'm super jealous about the nike thing. I'm struglling to get times and speed without resorting to a treadmill. And I deff can't drop the money even on the cheap ipod with nike. Ill have to figure it out soon.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Hope you're enjoying AZ=)

4.1 miles tonight.
8:30pm
41 minutes
10 minutes miles
549 calories burned....haha love my Nike+. The man-voice even talks to me at the end of every mile letting me know where I'm at in the run and gives me words of encouragement! My feet are still getting really hot, but when I tried going sockless last night I could feel the blisters coming on....

Also, got cute new running shorts and tanks today because this heat is getting ridic! Won't be long and I'll be able to run in just a sports bra and shorts...it'll be legit because I am SO WINNING our little bet;) ABS OF STEEL hahahah God, I hope! lol

Monday, June 22, 2009

Days off are for wimps=)

LOL we ran 4 miles tonight and it felt great! Waited for the sun to go down and then made our way around the neighborhood. My feet got really really hot, but that's about all I could complain about. I'm getting pretty pumped for the longer distances now that I have more confidence in finishing.

Have fun in AZ, but I wouldn't suggest running in that heat! I can't wait to hear all about it and how a visit in 100+ heat is most likely going to change your future plans for heading down and over there=)

Holy. Shit.

I am fucking exhausted. 5 miles, one short break, pure exhaustion. I need to figure out a way to bring water with me, because in 81 degree heat it's just too much.

Route: Down Main, Down packard, down east stadium, up wastenaw, down south u down liberty. Just craziness.

Temp: 81

NO LEG PAINS! I walked a little extra to warm up, so maybe that's the key. Little 4 tomorrow, then I'm glad I have Wednesday off because I am off to SUNNY ARIZONA! I'm going to have to figure out how to work it, because it's supposed to be 109 on Friday. I hope you enjoyed your day off. Worrrrrrrrrrrrd

Good luck=)

with both your exam and your 5! Oh, and you're getting to FL...get a job=)

Sunday, June 21, 2009

I'm Tryin, I'm Tryin

Ha you think you know me so well. You act like you've never been camping before.

Well yesterday we decided to have everyone over for a monster fondue party, so I delayed my 5 for tomorrow and did my 3 tonight. On Thursday when I went, my leg hurting finally turned into complete lockup, and I had to walk. Today it hurt again, but not too bad. I'll let you know how the 5 goes, that's going to be tough. In better news, I have an exam at 8am. By 10 am, I'll be COMPLETELY done with college! I need to figure out some way to make some cash so I can get down to T.Bay.

I was gone for TWO DAYS!!!!

A. Why didn't we ever go camping when we were together?! I know you're not exactly the "camping type," but what a fun time it was. I highly suggest ya'll camp next year at ROTR because you would have an excellent time=)

B. You guys should come out to Lansing in a couple weeks for common ground fest...Stone Temple Pilots, Saving Abel, Framing Hanley, NEEDTOBREATHE, 3 doors down, JET, Red, and others.

C. Where are your post from the past couple runs? Did you quit on me?!

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Since you're slacking...

I just got back from running my 5 and I wanted to call you...bad, but I resisted the urge and decided to catch my breath instead. Ry....I am actually a runner! I can't wait until Sunday, after you've ran your 5, when we are both real runners:) It's something about the number I think, the number 5 that makes this whole training thing seem real. Ok, clearly I'm a bit excited! I got a new pair of kicks on my after-work shopping spree lol, maybe it's the shoes...ha

Anyway,
Five miles. 56 minutes. After mile 3, my pace seemed to increase naturally and without much effort so it was at about that point that I decided I was going to finish this in under an hour.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

I was excited to do nothing today.

Got home from work, remembered it was a "rest" day, thought about my evening of blissful nothingness, then remembered that we're going camping this weekend. So much for a day off! I figure I better put a couple miles in since I will probably miss my Saturday and Sunday run. I know Sunday is our first 5, so I might attempt that on Thursday or just move it to Monday.

My 4 yesterday went well. My time is improving, but my body is def starting to feel all these miles. I guess being sore feels pretty good because it lets me know that I'm pushing myself.

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

I did it

4 Miles. No Stopping last night. I am proud.

My times are still a little sad, but they will come up. Luckily I'm back on schedule, with another 4 awaiting me tonight.

Monday, June 15, 2009

I forgot this in the last post! I added the calender to the bottom of the page so I hope this helps a little...just scroll down=)

No worries=)

A little bend in the workout schedule won't hurt a thing! With your "injury" maybe it's better that you take it easy for the week. If you push it then you are just going to hinder the training later in the game, let yourself recover then get back to the grind.

So the Hellrung's are back in MI, huh?! Assuming that it's not because of a bad financial/family situation, that's exciting news! I bet the girls are happy to be closer to you and it should be fun for you to spend more time with your dad=)

I headed to the track yesterday. By changing up my routes, and setting I'm keeping things interesting for me and I haven't been bored yet! It was nice to be on an actual track where I could easily keep track of my distance and my time. The surface was also a lot easier on my body in general. The 4 mile run was tough but I gave myself a 2 lap walking warm up and a whole mile cool down and stretch which felt really good.

If you're not feeling up to the run today, give yourself a rest and your body a chance to recover a bit before getting back to it! Good luck!

I am a little bad...

Alrighty so yesterday was father moving back to Michigan day. I had planned on going running after breaking after the move. However, he showed up with a 53 foot semi and a 28 foot uHaul, full of all their shit they ceaselessly purchase. After that good workout, I was exhausted. So I did my 3 miles today, and I'll take my 4 tomorrow. Little disappointed that I moved it, but not too bad. I drove to his house at 2am from Ann Arbor to Marine City after the hockey game, and we started at 8:00 am, so getting up before to go was just not feasible. But i'll get at it tomorrow and it'll be good. 891 left, it'll be 4 less tomorow morning.

3 mile route
Nighttime run - 62 degress

Ankle hurt, eventually shooting up to just below my knee..We'll see how this turns out. I need to look up more on using foods (gels) during the race, and healing from litte injuries every night.

I can't figure out why I didn't start running sooner!

8:00 am
3 miles around campus, on and off rain and NO IPOD=) I figured the rainy morning was a perfect time to try out running without the tunes, and it really wasn't all that bad. Not sure I could go 26 miles without it, but the 3 were nice.

Notes: The first mile is still tough for me, but after that my breathing seems to completely steady and I feel great. After the 3 today, I actually felt like I could have gone further but I figured that I would stick to our schedule and I do want to be careful not to push too hard. After all, we do have 8 months to go!

As much as I try to be nice...

Retard. Google maps. You can drag points around to get the best circuit without doubling up. I had the BEST run today.

4 Miles
Rainy - 66 F
Route: Down Main, Out on East Stadium, Up south Forest, down N U, up East Liberty

Notes: This was amazing because I finally realized to SLOW DOWN. I'm not going to be in the best shape immediately. When I kept hard and walked, I finally got this and then ran the entire way, and STILL made 10 mins a mile. And also, relax the shoulders. Even though I twisted my knee, and my hip and foot hurt from my drunken antics, it was amazing because I did it.

Use google maps. It's fantastic. Much love.

Everytime I lace up now, I think about how much I want to be in one of those Nike ads...

but instead of the whole "I run for those who can't" line, mine would probably be something along the lines of " I run because I plan on having a Turkey Tom, mountain dew and leftover birthday cake for lunch"

Sad, but oh so very true. I just got back from a happy 4.2 mile jog and not only did I survive, but I think it was easier than my 3 mile run the day before! I felt strong? lol that sounds real homo lol Let me know if you find out anything more about music and the race because that just seems crazy! I am all for the "escape" of running, but even I can only reflect on life in silence for so long.

You know what's been the most difficult for me....figuring out the most efficient route to run in order to make my mileage and not go in circles. I can either drive around first to figure it out in the car, make my best guess, or head right to the track and be bored out of my mind. Ordered the NIKE+ sensor today to sync with my iPOD, so hopefully that helps=)

What am I going to do when my iPOD dies somewhere between miles 18 and 20?!

and this is all I could think about as I was running tonight (yes, I'm an overachiever and went for a quick 2 mile run tonight) but seriously....what am I going to do when it dies? Bah, guess I'm going to have to keep up with you so I don't go crazy...haha who would have thought I'd be looking to YOU to keep me sane?

Good luck with the 4 tomorrow!

This is the one

Hey negativity

We will keep up with this craziness. AND I post the temperature because I want to look back and know every little thing ha. I also learned that I tied my shoes too tight. Plus the route took me awhile to get exactly 3 for, so I want to have something to remember it so I can take it during my 3 runs.

In other news, my bar run last night turned into a jump into the fountain by the Union, causing a large bruise on my right foot and left hip. I don't even know how that physically works ha. We'll see how it turns out during my run tomorrow. 4 miles is going to be a killer.

I could use about 5 more hours in every day, ok maybe 10.

I really didn't want to run today, but I did. My love/hate relationship with running was all hate this morning when my alarm went off at 5:30, but there are just not enough hours in the day for my crazy life to fit just the way I'd like it to.

2.9 miles...I know I know, but it was before 6 AM!
33 minutes(that's just about a 10 minute mile...not bad not bad=))

-I don't like this format because I feel like we might not keep up with it, but I'm going to keep at it until I have time to put together something better.

Let's get this started

Ok run number one.

Time: ~40 Minutes
Temp: 66
Length: 3 miles
Route: Down Packard, Up South Forest, Down Liberty
Notes: Well, I knew it wouldn't be easy. It wasn't too bad, but I definitely had to do some walking around the halfway point. It's only the beginning.

Miles Remaining: 898

Toenails...we could lose our toenails.ha oops!
Apparently, after this is all said and done, we could lose our toes!

It's On.

I know that I can get through the first 20 miles on my own, but I'm counting on you to carry me through that last 6.2.

Time to get moving=)
